Hi… my name is Bob Wheaton and I’m a fine art and commercial photographer. I use my creative and technical skills to make images that expresses my personal perspective of ordinary objects and places.  I am inspired by the beauty of the world all around us.  My goal is to create images that connect emotionally and instill a sense of awe with my viewers.

I retired from a 40-year professional career in Environmental Health and Safety in 2018, moved to Plymouth MA and created Wheaton Images LLC to provide commercial photography services and produce fine art for sale at art shows locally.  I started making images when the first Nikon professional cameras were introduced in 2007. I’ve been using Adobe Photoshop for over 25 years (since version 3) and Adobe Lightroom since release in 2007.  Initially, I used Photoshop to create graphics for health and safety training software development and have used each successive version for creating digital art.  

I’ve been honored to win several awards over the last few years for my photography.  Some of these include:

• Cape Cod Art Center Gallery - 2nd Place for “Total Eclipse” - February, 2019

• Cape Cod Art Center Gallery - People’s Choice Award, July 2023

• U.S. National Park Service, Big South Fork, KY - 1st Place Artistic Category for “Pathway” - 2017

• Great Smoky Mountain Summit,  Townsend, TN - Multiple Awards for Images of the Smokies 2015-2016

I am a juried artist member at the Cape Cod Art Center.  I’m also a member of the Plymouth Center for the Arts, North River Arts Society and the Professional Photographers of America.
